5th Biology Students' Symposium

We are pleased to announce the 5th Biology Students’ Symposium, organized by the Biology Students’ Research Society as part of the 7th Congress of Ecologists, hosted by the Macedonian Ecological Society.

The Symposium will take place on 17 October 2026 in Struga, at Hotel Drim & SPA. It is open to students from Macedonia, as well as international students, who are invited to present their research. Participation requires the submission of an abstract, and accepted contributions may be presented either as a poster or as an oral presentation. The Symposium welcomes student presentations addressing the biological diversity of Macedonia and the wider region. 

Symposium Fees

The registration fee for participants submitting an abstract is 1000 MKD, while the fee for visitors is 500 MKD. Payment of the registration fee will be made on the day of the Symposium.

Instructions for preparation of abstracts

Limit your abstracts to five hundred words. Organize the abstract in a way that follows the structure of a full article: few introductory sentences, aims and objectives, a short methodology, main results, brief discussion, and conclusions. Provide 3-5 key words that are not contained in the paper title.

Citations, references, tables, and figures should not be included.

Publications

After the Symposium, authors are welcomed to submit their papers for publication in the
“Biology Students Research Society Bulletin”.

The 7th Congress of Ecologists will also take place from 16 to 18 October 2026 at the same venue. Interested participants may register via the Congress Registration Form (please note that the Congress registration fee is separate; detailed information is available on the official Congress website).
